A superb art deco ragged top jug in a striking green, gold, red and and black jester pattern. This piece looks extremely contemporary with such bold, geometric patterns and hand applied paint. The ragged top, handle and and base feel so handmade and beautiful. Each paint stroke is individually defined and the colours are lovely.

Fully back-stamped Myott Son & Co. England. Hand painted. 9160 (Pattern number). The jug is 18cm  in height Condition is excellent. Some very minor paint flake in one or two places.

Myott has a seductive sense of mystery around it. The designers are currently not identified as many crucial records, possibly including pattern books, were destroyed in a fire in 1949. As research develops the pieces are becoming increasingly collectable. Myott is a wonderful investment for those with a taste for art deco -1930s funky pieces!
