Myott: Art Deco Hand-Painted
Twisted Handle 1930s
Gorgeous Myott Art Deco Twist Handle Jug with bright striped pattern of orange, yellows, grey and beige. Good sized piece at 18cm tall by 14cm at the widest point. There are further stripes and dashes on the base and neck and a black handle. Fully back-stamped Myott Son & Co. England. Hand painted. 1040 FO (Pattern number). Excellent condition.
Myott has a seductive sense of mystery around it. The designers are currently not identified as many crucial records, possibly including pattern books, were destroyed in a fire in 1949. As research develops the pieces are becoming increasingly collectable. Myott is a wonderful investment for those with a taste for art deco -1930s funky pieces!
